Christmas and More Pictures.

Here we are Christmas morning! Christmas is always really busy for us. We spent Christmas eve morning with DJ's dad's side of the family. It was fun having breakfast with them and spending time! We found out his dad and step-mom Bonnie are pregnant again! So exciting! We then went home, ate sushi, watched Christmas movies, and made snickerdoodles. We woke up at 6:50 am Christmas day to get ready (Except me, I was awake feeding Jack at 3:30 am. Although, he did let me sleep six hours before waking me up to feed him, so that was nice! A great birthday/Christmas present!) Anyway, we woke up, went to DJ's mom's house to open gifts where we got our Kindles, and Jack got his highchair, along with other things (Brooke always does so much for us on Christmas!). Then we went to Christmas breakfast with DJ's aunt's family, mom, sister, and grandparents. After that we went to his grandparents to open gifts, and then back to his mom's to open stockings. We ended the day with my family where we relaxed and ate, and played with the new pool table. It was nice relaxing with my family and for them to spend time with Jack! All in all, it was a great Christmas day. Tiring, but really fun for Jack's first Christmas! Not to mention I am now 21 years old!!! Officially and adult! Oh and we also got Jack a cute little outfit for his first Christmas (in the above picture). He is so adorable =-)

This is what Jack looked like after I lifted the car seat cover to get him out hahaha!

Some newborn pics...
I'll post more later

Well, I hope you all had a good Christmas--love you!

Jack meeting Santa!

He always makes the goofiest faces at us haha

Life With a Baby

I can't believe Jack is 5 weeks old, and I haven't even posted since he was born! These past few weeks have been soo fun, we love having Jack in our lives. I was able to take some time off work to be with him which was so nice. Especially because he was eating every 2 hours, so I was exhausted! We had some issues nursing at first. Just some concerns that he wasn't getting enough, so we started supplementing formula (about an ounce after feedings) which has done wonders! It's helped him sleep 4 hours at night (5 if I'm lucky). So, now we just give him formula at night, or if I can tell he's still hungry after nursing for 30 minutes. I swear my milk is just inconsistent or something. And since I'm having trouble pumping, we're having sitters feed him formula while I'm at work.

I'm in my 2nd week back at work, and it's been tough having to leave him with people. We don't have a set babysitter, we kind of just take who we can get. DJ's sister Tayler is going to be helping a lot. We found out that we'll be able to afford for me to go to working 3 days a week vs. 5 days a week, and that has been such a life saver! I now work Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays. My grandparents have been awesome about letting me bring Jack to work with me every Thursday, and also if I can't find a sitter. So, work-wise, it's been great!

Being a mommy is so amazing, I love it! I'm still kind of in that new mom stage where I kind of shelter him a little, and am a little over-protective. But, I think I've come a long way =-). Jack is such a good baby! He'll really only cry when something is wrong (dirty diaper, hungry, over-tired and just needs to be cuddled). He's awake a lot more now, and just looks around so much! He's so cute, the cutest little boy ever! I could stare at him forever. He hasn't smiled yet, which is really bugging me! He'll smile in his sleep, but not at me! He's been really close to it though this past week, so I think it'll happen any day now!

DJ is such an amazing daddy! He is so in love with Jack, and helps me so much. I'm so lucky to have him! For the first couple weeks Jack was home, I think I only changed like 2 diapers since DJ was doing them all, I loved it. It's funny, because so many people told us how hard having a baby is. There's definitely a lack of sleep, and some annoyance if we can't get him to stop crying, but it's all so worth it! It just doesn't seem as hard as we were expecting.

It was pretty hard for our dogs Mojo and Kaya at first though. They're so used to being the center of attention, so it was a bit of an adjustment. Especially for Mojo. Even though Kaya is younger, Mojo has always been the baby of the family. They're doing fine now though. I felt so bad, because I kind of ignored them at first. They love Jack, but I think I think they'll love him more when he can crawl and walk and play with them. Now they just like sniffing and seeing what's going on!

It has been a big 5 weeks for little Jack! He's met soo many people who love him. He finally got to meet Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jim earlier this month--what a fun week! They got to babysit him a whole day while I was at work, and Grandma Joyce got to come hang out on a day I had off to spend some time with him, and go out to lunch and go shopping. It was so fun! I can't wait to introduce Jack to the east coast in May!

Well, I can't believe it's Christmas time already. We are so excited for Jack's first Christmas this week! I think I'm more excited for his first Christmas than I am for my 21st birthday! We had a family party with DJ's side of the family, and Jack got to meet Santa for the first time! It's just so funny because when I was pregnant, DJ and I used to say "Just think, by Christmas we'll have a little baby!" and it's already here! Time is flying by so fast.

On another note...I went back blonde! I've been debating whether or not I wanted to for a long time, and finally just decided to do it. I haven't had long blonde hair since I was 16, so it's a little weird, but I'll get used to it =-) Also, DJ and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary December 12th...I can't believe it's been 2 years! (We'll have been actually together, 3 years, on New Years Eve...crazy!) We just went out to a movie and sushi while Brooke babysat. It was so nice. DJ and I are the happiest we've ever been together. We wouldn't change one thing about our lives together! It's just nice to know we can make it through tough spots, but still be so in love, and not want to live without eachother.

Well, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and a great new year!! We can't wait to start our new year as a family.

PS I enabled my comments, so you all can now comment on posts if you like. Love you all =-)

Just about 10 minutes after he was born

Jack's first diaper change...He wasn't too thrilled!

Our new little family =-)

The recovery was a bit exhausting!

First night at home, so cozy! (He peed through this onesie about an hour after this picture haha)

Sooo cute...

Mommy and Jack

Jack is here!

Tuesday, November 16th (the day after all the Dean's left town...of course!) Jack decided to come into our lives! I woke up at 2 am with some bad contractions, but just a couple, so I slept through them. I then woke up at 9 am and was going to do some cleaning before work at noon, but while cleaning I noticed my contractions were realllly hurting. (I had been getting contractions for the past few weeks, but not as painful as these!). I grabbed a notebook and wrote down the times as I felt them. 7 minutes apart is what they started at. I just carried the notebook around as I cleaned, and noticed the times I was writing down were all of a sudden about 4 minutes apart...I called Labor and Delivery to ask them if I should come in, and they just told me to drink a big glass of water, and take a hot shower to try and get my body to relax. Well, I tried, and they got worse it seemed like! I was trying to just push through them, because we've already had a couple false alarms being sent to the hospital, and I didn't want to feel like an idiot again! But I knew I had to do something when I couldn't even stand up straight through the last couple. So I called DJ at work and told him to come get me so we could go to the doctors office and get checked really quick. (I was too nervous to go straight to the hospital...I didn't want to go just to get sent away!) So we got to the dr's at about 12:45, got checked at still a 2-3 cm dilation, and 70-80% effaced. I was so disappointed, because of all the pain I had! But since my contractions were 4 minutes apart, and really painful, they had me go into the hospital. Luckily I packed our hospital bags just in case, because once we got there at around 2:30 they checked me at the same dilation, but 100% effaced, and decided to keep me and break my water! We called my mom to let her know since she was going to be in the room for the delivery, and she made the hour drive into a 30 minute one haha! The contractions got soooo bad, so I got the epidural right after they broke my water (I didn't want to stick around and find out what they would feel like AFTER they broke my water-no thank you!) I was feeling so good after I got it. I was able to just sit and talk to my mom and DJ, and it was really nice, until the nurse had me lay on my right side. It was like all of the epidural went to my right side with the gravity, and I felt everything in my left side...it was HORRIBLE. She came in and checked me at a 4 cm dilation (she said it would probably take about a centimeter an hour) and I had her switch me to my left side so the epi would move back, but it never did! Nope, she left the room, and I continued to feel major pain all on my left half. Finally I felt a lot of pressure, like there was a head between my legs! So I was like "Umm we need the nurse back in here." She came in (a half hour after she last came in) and checked me-I went from a 4 to a 10 in a half hour! And boy, did I feel it! (well, on my left side). Next thing I knew, the doc came in, and I started pushing! I pushed about 4 times, then the baby's heart rate was all over the place, so the doctor used a vacuum to help get him out faster. Then with one more push, Jack was out, and in our world! 6lbs 9oz, 20 1/2 inches long, and perfect!! DJ and I are soo in love with him, and we couldn't be happier =-))) I'll make my next post a bunch of pictures for everyone!

Monday, November 8, 2010

Well, last weekend I had some really bad back pain and cramps, so I called the doc on monday because they continued. They had me go into labor and delivery (I decided I hate calling to ask questions while I'm this late in the pregnancy, because all they tell me is to go to the hospital, which is more money out of our pocket just be sent home!) So we went, and found out that I was dilated to a 1 (I had last been checked a few days before that as not dilated, and 70 % effaced) So the nurse said that's probably why I felt all the pain through the weekend and all day that day. We went home, and I had my doctor's appointment on Wednesday last week (2 days after the hospital visit) and found out I am now 2 cm dilated and that things are moving right along! That was last Wednesday, so I'm sure I'm even more dilated by now! My appointment is on Thursday for my 38 week check up, if we even make it 'till then (my contractions have been getting worse and closer together when I have them, so I'm hoping that means something!) The doctor says I could have him any day, but I have a feeling the baby is going to be stubborn and not come 'till his due date! (hopefully not after though!) But I at least figure with all this pain that I'm having, that my body is that much more ready for the big day! So that's all the news so far. Here is a pic I took Sunday (I was 37 1/2 weeks)

36 Week Appointment

Well, we went in for our appointment yesterday, and found out I'm 70% effaced, but no dialation yet. But at least something's happening, right?? We got to see the baby on the ultra sound screen, and he's doing perfect, and is still so cute! He estimated his weight at 5 lbs 8 oz, so he's in the 40th percentile (so just a little smaller than average, but I'll take that over a 10 pound boy growing in there!) He's head down, but I could have told you that from all the kicking I have in my ribs in the middle of the night =-P. I've been getting braxton hicks contractions ALL the time, and some really bad crampings paired w/ them, but nothing regular. I'll get like 5 within an hour, and then after that they'll go away for an hour, and then come back. The doctor says it's just my body preparing for the real thing =-S. So that's all the news so far! I go in next week for a heartbeat check (he says, unless he "sees me sooner!"...=-S) then the week after that we see if there's anymore progress! I can't believe how close it is...I need to go clean the kitchen floors!

Blah I feel so huge! This is 34 weeks (I'm now 35...only 5 weeks left if he decides to wait 'till the due date!)

Nursery Pictures!!

So here's his crib

Close up of the letters DJ's mom made!

Blankets, Burp rags, and Books! (Grandma Joyce gave me that frame on the bottome with my name in it!)

My bouncy chair from Ikea that I love! (I love DJ and I's prom picture behind it..who knew that we'd be here a few years later?? I love him =-))

Changing table with all the extra changing stuff we got from the shower! (SO much it seems like, but I'm sure it won't last us long!) I love the circle mirrors above the ottoman! (we were wanting to play up the circles from the bedding through out the room more, but all we ended up doing were the little mirrors, but I love them =-)

And here's Jack's coming home outfit, all washed and ready! It's fleece I think and super comfy feeling -- I want one!

So there it is! It's a small room, not much to work with, but I love it! It ended up being so perfect, and I think we did well with the small space we have.

Also--we have a final name decision! We changed the middle name to Michael, since that's DJ's first name (Kristen--or we can always tell Michael it's after his name =-))

So Jack Michael St. John, it is. It sounds so perfect to me, I can't wait to meet him!!

Fun Trip to Labor and Delivery...

So all through last weekend I was having weird feelings of pressure. It felt like the baby was trying to come out almost! It woke me up in the middle of the night a few times through the weekend, paired w/ contractions. Then on monday while walking around at work, it was doing it again, minus the contractions. So I called my OB and they said to go get checked at the hospital! I didn't think it was a big deal, but I figured I'd just go get checked in case.

So DJ and I went to the hospital where we'll be delivering, they hooked me up to some monitors, and did some tests to see if my water broke (which it hasn't..yay!) Then they did a cervix test that came back negative, meaning if anything were to happen, that we have at least 2 weeks (I'm sure he won't come that soon though!) The monitors were telling me I was having a bunch of contractions, it was crazy, because I could really only feel like 5 of them! The nurse just said a lot of women just contract more. Sooo there ya go! Everything is fine, and it was actually really fun to get to see where we go when it's the real deal. The nurse was really nice, and the rooms were really nice too since they just re-did the Labor and Delivery! It's crazy how close we're getting! I think it'll really hit home once Halloween comes around. I'm only a few weeks from being considered full term!

Maternity Pics/Dr. Appt. Update

Here are a few maternity pictures we had done! My lovely friend Valor has her own photography business, and is a fabulous photographer! She was nice enough to do a whole cd of pictures for us for free, and we'll be doing our newborn pictures with her as well--I'm so excited! I'll put some more maternity pics up once I upload them from the cd =-)

I had a quick dr. appointment yesterday just to check on the baby's heartbeat, and ask the doc any questions/concerns I have (which is none). And the heartbeat is normal! No more skipped heartbeat every 6 beats! (phew). He says it was just a fluke =-) That makes me so happy. He says everything's perfect, and that he's head down. We have our doctor visits every 2 weeks now (and will be going to weekly appointments once November hits). I can't believe how fast it's going...only 9 weeks left!
One last thing...We are almost done painting the baby's room! We took the green from the baby's bedding for an accent wall, and a cream color for the other 3 walls. It looks AWESOME! DJ did a great job painting, as I sat with a mask on in the other room w/ all the windows wide open in the apartment (haha I was very paranoid, only to find out from my doctor that it's unnecessary to be THAT paranoid)
Our first shower is next friday at DJ's grandma's house, being thrown by my mother-in-law Brooke, and I'm so excited to see everyone I love in the same room at the same time! (Minus some out of town fam of course-speaking of, I'm SOOOO excited to see Grandma Joyce, Grandpa Jim-hopefully, the CA Deans, and the WA Deans here in November!!!)
Love you all, and talk to you later!

Appointment today!

It was a big ultra sound appointment today! The next ultra sound won't be 'till 36 weeks. It was so fun getting to see our little boy again =-) He's doing well, moving all the time which is good. The doctor found that his heart beat skips every 6 beats =-(. He says not to worry because nothing else is wrong, but it still is a little scary to me. He says to just stay away from caffeine. I don't drink much caffeine to begin with (just a soda every now and then as a treat) so I can definitely stay away from it. The doctor says it's actually normal as long as there's no other symptoms or any other problems, and that most of the time the baby's heartbeat will be back to normal by birth! SO... I'm 29 weeks this week, but the baby is measuring 30 weeks (I'm hoping that means he'll come early!!) He's 3 lbs, which the doc says is bigger than average, but I'm not worried. As long as he's healthy, that's all I care about!! I've gained tons of weight which totally sucks, and freaks me out =-(. I don't understand, because I eat healthy and am pretty active for the most part...Hopefully I'll lose most of it on the table.

But all in all it was a good day. DJ and I loved seeing the baby on the screen again. And it was super cool seeing him move, and being able to feel it too! I can't wait to meet him...it's getting close!!

28 1/2 weeks and still going!

The past few weeks people have been asking how I've been feeling...At the time I told them I feel great! I'm past the sickness, but not big enough to be uncomfortable (yay!) Except, I must have spoken too soon, because this past week has SUCKED. My belly feels huge, I get tired to easily which really upsets me because I can't work out like I could pre pregnancy which is stressing me out, and most of all I can't sleep comfortably! Blah! Luckily I haven't been sick, but I can say now that I am no longer in the happy stage of pregnancy. At least I'm headed towards the end right? I just keep telling myself that:At least this only has to last 'till November, and I hear the reward is pretty awesome =-)

Things we've bought for the nursery

Here's the bedding we got! The background is more of a cream color than a white, and there's the dark brown and latte color circles in there that we're going to play up a lot. And there's some blue and orange we'll play up as well =-) The crib that we want is that espresso color of the crib in the picture, so it'll look really good once we get it painted!

I just ordered this bouncer a couple days ago! It's originally super expensive, but I found it for a really good deal, so I had to jump on it! I wanted a nice bouncer because I'll be moving it around the house with the baby in it while I shower, get ready, clean etc. So I want it to be comfy for him! It has an mp3 hook up! Haha, my mom makes fun of it, but I love it! It also has cute lullabies though, and nice vibration/bounce settings. I'm excited for this to get here!

This is the chair we got for the nursery...this picture looks cheap haha. The one we got is an espresso finish with a really nice pad that's a cream color and nice and cushy =-) The pillow is awesome because I can take it off the top and move it to my lower back if I want. And although it's not a glider/rocking chair, it's a bouncer chair and bounces really easily, so it's perfect and I love it!!

So, that's all we have so far! Right now our 2nd bedroom (soon to be nursery) is just storing the stuff we need to get rid of at a yard sale before the baby comes. We're excited to get it set up!

Registry!

We have our Target registry all done! We decided to go on a date and do that last night...we're really anxious for November to get here! You can look at it online under "Ashley and DJ Baby Registry". We also went out and picked out what we want to paint the nursery, since we've already bought the baby's bedding, so we pretty much know what colors we want to paint =-) I'm excited! We'll be registering at Baby's R Us also, and will be going there Sunday to register. Brooke (DJ's mom) is having a baby shower the last Saturday of September, so we just want to have everything ready. It's going to be so much fun to see everyone, I can't wait! I'm sure if anyone is considering traveling to UT (from my Dad's side of the fam) that they'll be more interested in coming to my Mom's shower in November, but if you can't make it please don't worry! Hopefully we'll be able to do some traveling with the baby to visit family members.

Can I just say, I had such a hard time picking out a stroller!! I literally lost sleep over it! But, I finally found the perfect one that I want (It's on the Target registry if you want to check it out) I'm really excited about it, because it's a jogging stroller w/ a swivel wheel, so we can also use it as a regular stroller, it'll fit the carseat we're getting, and it has an mp3 hookup for the baby! So cool =-) I can't wait to take him running across the street at the park!

Well, we have our next appointment next thursday, and it's a sonogram to see how the baby is measuring up! I'm so excited, because we haven't done an ultra sound for a few months now I think...It feels that long at least. But I'll be 29 weeks next week, which means that after than we can start counting down--We'll only have 10 weeks left! =-D Can't wait!

Diabetes Test

Well we had another check up appointment on thursday to test to see if I have gestational diabetes... I was super nervous, but it was negative! In fact my test results were perfect! (I guess those Healthy Choice meals I eat for lunch, and the exercising is paying off!) Other than that, and hearing the heartbeat, it was kind of a boring appointment. It was funny, when the nurse was putting the thing on my stomach to look for the heart beat the baby kept moving around and kicking it! I told her he hates when I rest things on my stomach (my book, icecream etc.) He always kicks at whatever is resting on my tummy like it's cramping his space! He moves all the time (especially if I stay up past 1 am), and as annoying as it can get, I love it =-). It let's me know he's ok. Sometimes he'll ball up on one side of my stomach, and it's so obvious...it looks so goofy!

I've been feeling what they call "Braxton Hicks" contractions also. They're just practice for the real thing, and they don't happen too often (that would be not good!), but man! They are uncomfortable!

But all is healthy with the baby and I. And DJ also =-). I'm in the happy stage of pregnancy where I'm not sick anymore, and not huge enough to complain (but big enough that I can get away with waddling, and having DJ carry heavy stuff for me =-)) DJ is amazing, and helps me with anything I need, cooks me food, and most of all deals with my attitudes! We are really excited for him to come into our lives, and get to know him!

I have my test tomorrow for my personal trainer certification! I can't wait to get it and start training people! Wish me luck =-D

Well our next appointment is September 9th, and we get to see him on the ultra sound again! We'll get his weight and everything, so I'll be sure to post that day.

Love you all

Bump Pic Finally!!

Here is my most updated bump picture! I still think I look borderline pregnant/chubby belly. But it's definitely coming along =-)

He's still moving a ton also. He always moves the most between 9pm-11pm every night, so it's my routine to put my I-Pod on for him and watch him kick the headphones. (It's CRAZY being able to see him roll around, watching the ripples on my stomach!) I'm not sure if him kicking the headphones means he likes the music, or hates it, so I don't leave it on for long. I get so excited with our little bonding time every night--then I remember that this cute little thing is going to have to come out someday, and won't just be a silent one that kicks...he's going to cry and poop too. Haha, so I'm just taking advantage of the time now. I know the only thing I will miss about being pregnant is feeling him move, kick, and punch, so I want to focus on enjoying it while I can!

Shout out to my out of town family member: I hope I get to see you all for my showers in September, or sometime soon! I miss everyone, and wish I saw more of you! We'll be making lots of trips once the baby's born of course though!

20 week Pics (sorry bad quality)

Profile of his face

Definitely a boy!!

He's still moving a TON through out the day. I introduced to him to music the other day through my I-Pod headphones (some Jim Brickman piano music, and some of my relaxing yoga music) and he loved it! There was a loud part in one of the yoga songs (like a loud booming sound) and it must have scared him because he did a crazy roll, punch, kick movement that I could see from the outside--it even knocked my headphones off my belly! I feel like he already has a personality, and it gets DJ and I so excited to bring him into our lives. What a beautiful surprise he was to us =-D

Anatomy Appt./More Movement

So, we had our anatomy appointment yesterday morning and it went great! According to the measurments of the baby we're actually at 20 weeks not 19! Which would be awesome, because that way the baby will probably come earlier. And the earlier the better since the due date is the day after Thanksgiving! I think it's enough having my birthday on Christmas =-). So we found out he weighs 10 oz which is normal for 20 weeks along. Also, he would not stop moving! I have a feeling we're going to have our hands full =-S. I felt him move for the first time Saturday morning, and then I figured I probably won't feel him for a while since a lot of first time moms say that can happen, but he moved the next day all afternoon! (And like I said below, DJ was able to feel him for the first time...he was very excited!) And then he moved Monday afternoon, Tuesday all night, Wednesday all morning (and through the appt) and also all through out the day! I haven't felt him this morning as much (he's probably catching up on his lack of sleep for the past 5 days!) I actually love it though. A lot of people say I'll get sick of it, which I probably will, but for now it just puts me at ease knowing he's alright and having fun in there! I just can't wait 'till he gets here, he's so adorable! I have a few friends who've had their babies already, or are due really soon, and it's making me so anxious!!

I'll be posting up the pictures from our appointment as soon as I can! ...And I'm also starting to get a little bump, so hopefully I can post some pictures up of my belly too!

Movement!!!

I felt the baby move for the first time yesterday!!

It was early in the morning, and I was trying to go back to sleep (I wake up a lot while I sleep) and I felt a punch! I thought it may have been a twitch, but I put my hand where I felt the movement, and he kicked 2 times more! It was sooo crazy! I loved it =-D I called DJ at work right away. Then, today he was moving all over in the afternoon! I just sat there in bed for an hour just feeling him, and he even moved for DJ. He was so excited to feel it!

Ahh I'm so excited =-) We have our long appointment on wednesday to check on the baby's measurments, and make sure everything is developing well, so I'll put a new post up then.

Love you!

17 weeks...His arm/hand up by his face

17 weeks along...Jack's Cute little face!

It's getting a lot more roomy in there for him! He wasn't dancing and moving around as usual, because he's filling up all the space!

It's a..................

BOY!!!!!

I thought I'd use blue text in celebration! We have our little Jack Dario St. John on the way =-). We could not be more happy, excited, or thrilled! We go in a few more weeks for the anatomy scan to make sure all the measurements are off to a good start. I'll be posting some pictures up as soon as I can of the baby at 17 weeks (today). I'm not starting to show just yet that everyone will be able to tell, but it's getting there! Hopefully I'll pop in the next few weeks here (my ab muscles are definitely feeling it from the growing the past week, so I know it should be soon that I start showing!) For now I just make sure I stick it out and rub my belly in public, so people know I don't just have a chubby gut!

Love you all, hope you have a great day!

Our 13 week ultra sound picture
Kind of a bad picture taken from my phone - sorry!
But look how cute =-D

Need to Update!

SO! We had our 13 week appointment on May 20th, and it was amazing! Grandma Toni, Grandma Joyce, and my mom got to come along w/ DJ and I, and it was so fun. I loved having them all there. We heard the heartbeat, and got to see the baby moving around in there - it was so crazy! He/She was dancing all around! Such a cute baby =-). We had the doc look for the gender just for fun. They can't really tell us for sure that early, but I've heard that if it's a boy, you can sometimes tell really early on. And sure enough! There was something there, and we're all pretty sure it's a boy! But I guess since it was so early we don't want to be so sure yet. We have our next appointment set up for June 17th which is when we'll find out for sure. I can't wait! Meanwhile, I've been doing a lot of reasearch online for the stuff we want to buy for the baby. I've read up on everything, and I'm pretty happy with my choices for furniture, car seat, stroller etc. It's probably a little to early to create a registry, but we'll be doing it whithin a couple months! We'll be registering and Target. I figure why spend a fortune at another store, when I can find the same item at Target for a ton less? Can't wait to make it, and I can't wait to start decorating the room! I'm always getting ahead of myself.

I've stopped having the morning sickness (which actually only lasted about a few weeks at the most), but now I feel all other kinds of sicknesses! Headaches, exhaustion, and weird stuff like I can't tell if I'm hungry or just sick. My body doesn't crave food, but it's the only thing that'll make me feel better, ah! I hate it. I just am making sure I eat every few hours and stay hydrated. I hate having to work a full time job =-( It really takes it out of me now that I'm pregnant.

But on a happier note, I am counting down the days 'till we get to find out if we're having a boy or girl! And here are the names we picked out...drum roll...For a boy: Jack Dario (Dario after DJ's best friend since Elementary school) For a girl: Camryn Joyce OR Melody Joyce (We all know who Joyce is!)

Well I love you all, and I hope everyone is doing well!

Hearbeat!

We heard the heartbeat last thursday! I was so anxious, but it was so miraculous once we were able to hear it. I felt like crying, it was so amazing. And the baby actually looks like a baby now! I'll try to post the picture up once I get home. I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. At this point we're excited to have either one! Except we can NOT settle on girl names. So I'm hoping it's a boy. =-) I also just started my personal training course online. I love it so much. It's crazy I look forward to reading the text book. It's so fun to learn everything! Well our next OB appointment is next month on the 20th. Can't wait 'till then =-D.

First Dr. Appointment

The appointment went well! I was so nervous they were going tell me nothing is in there, but there really is! The visit mostly consisted of asking questions and getting answers (like if I can dye my hair...which I want to do...and if I can still eat sushi...which I would also love to do...etc.), getting blood drawn and tests taken, but we also got to do an ultra sound! There wasn't much to see yet, but it made it more real since I don't really feel pregnant (other than being hungry an hour after I'm finished eating, and fatigue). We also found out that I am 5 weeks and 5 days along as of today (so on thursday I'll be 6 weeks!) and the due date is November 25th, however the doctor said he'll be able to be more sure of the due date on our next visit. We'll be going back 3 weeks from now for our next appointment which is when the doctor said we'll be able to hear a heartbeat, and see a whole lot more baby! I still can't believe this is happening...We are so excited =-)

Love you all

Hi Everyone!

So DJ and I decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on our lives. Especially for all of you who live so far away. As all of you already know, we are pregnant! So I thought this would be a fun way to let everyone know what's new, and how everything is going. We'll post pictures and updates of the pregnancy, and anything else that happens in our lives that's fun to share.

We are so excited to have a baby coming! It was last thursday night (March 18th) when I decided to take the pregancy test. All week I knew something was weird with my body, so I thought I'd just take the test since all it was doing was sitting in our bathroom cabinet. I set it aside, and didn't think much of it since I've only ever seen negatives show up. I continued getting ready for bed when I glanced down at it, and realized it said positive! What?? I was just in shock...I went out to the living room where DJ was watching TV and showed him saying, "This is not a joke" (I've joked a few times just to prank him in the past) He was in shock too, but said "Well, we knew this would happen someday!" We then went to the store to buy some more test just in case, and well they were all definitely positive! It was hard to sleep that night, I was so anxious and surprised and excited. I looked online for how to buy a safe crib, and how to prevent stretch marks (getting a little to ahead of myself I know).

We were going to wait a few more years so we could finish school and buy a house, but I guess there was a different plan set for us. This is what's meant to be, and we are so happy about it! DJ is over half way done with his bachelors degree, and we decided for him to stay enrolled in school as long as we can afford it. I figured it would make no sense at all to have him take a break from school for the baby's sake. We should do the complete opposite and get our schooling done. So, that is our plan!

I know as far as everyone knows, I was going into nursing, but I've actually changed my direction. I got a personal trainer last year and completely changed my diet and exercising. I ended up losing 20 pounds! I found that I loved doing what I was doing. I loved studying nutrition and exercise. It became a hobby of mine, and I started thinking: I want to go into a career path where I'm excited to get up for work in the morning, and where I love what I'm doing. So I've decided to be a personal trainer! I'm so excited and am going to start on getting my certification in the next month. Our plan is for me to get a job at a gym before the baby is born, so when he/she is born I can work afternoons while DJ works mornings. That way one of us is always home with them. After that, I'll get my bachelors degree in Fitness.

Sorry for writing a book for you all, I just wanted to update everyone on everything! Other posts will be a lot shorter I'm sure. We have our first pre-natal visit this coming tuesday, so we'll talk to you then! Love you all!
