The appointment went well! I was so nervous they were going tell me nothing is in there, but there really is! The visit mostly consisted of asking questions and getting answers (like if I can dye my hair...which I want to do...and if I can still eat sushi...which I would also love to do...etc.), getting blood drawn and tests taken, but we also got to do an ultra sound! There wasn't much to see yet, but it made it more real since I don't really feel pregnant (other than being hungry an hour after I'm finished eating, and fatigue). We also found out that I am 5 weeks and 5 days along as of today (so on thursday I'll be 6 weeks!) and the due date is November 25th, however the doctor said he'll be able to be more sure of the due date on our next visit. We'll be going back 3 weeks from now for our next appointment which is when the doctor said we'll be able to hear a heartbeat, and see a whole lot more baby! I still can't believe this is happening...We are so excited =-)
Love you all
xoxo

Hi Everyone!
So DJ and I decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on our lives. Especially for all of you who live so far away. As all of you already know, we are pregnant! So I thought this would be a fun way to let everyone know what's new, and how everything is going. We'll post pictures and updates of the pregnancy, and anything else that happens in our lives that's fun to share.
We are so excited to have a baby coming! It was last thursday night (March 18th) when I decided to take the pregancy test. All week I knew something was weird with my body, so I thought I'd just take the test since all it was doing was sitting in our bathroom cabinet. I set it aside, and didn't think much of it since I've only ever seen negatives show up. I continued getting ready for bed when I glanced down at it, and realized it said positive! What?? I was just in shock...I went out to the living room where DJ was watching TV and showed him saying, "This is not a joke" (I've joked a few times just to prank him in the past) He was in shock too, but said "Well, we knew this would happen someday!" We then went to the store to buy some more test just in case, and well they were all definitely positive! It was hard to sleep that night, I was so anxious and surprised and excited. I looked online for how to buy a safe crib, and how to prevent stretch marks (getting a little to ahead of myself I know).
We were going to wait a few more years so we could finish school and buy a house, but I guess there was a different plan set for us. This is what's meant to be, and we are so happy about it! DJ is over half way done with his bachelors degree, and we decided for him to stay enrolled in school as long as we can afford it. I figured it would make no sense at all to have him take a break from school for the baby's sake. We should do the complete opposite and get our schooling done. So, that is our plan!
I know as far as everyone knows, I was going into nursing, but I've actually changed my direction. I got a personal trainer last year and completely changed my diet and exercising. I ended up losing 20 pounds! I found that I loved doing what I was doing. I loved studying nutrition and exercise. It became a hobby of mine, and I started thinking: I want to go into a career path where I'm excited to get up for work in the morning, and where I love what I'm doing. So I've decided to be a personal trainer! I'm so excited and am going to start on getting my certification in the next month. Our plan is for me to get a job at a gym before the baby is born, so when he/she is born I can work afternoons while DJ works mornings. That way one of us is always home with them. After that, I'll get my bachelors degree in Fitness.
Sorry for writing a book for you all, I just wanted to update everyone on everything! Other posts will be a lot shorter I'm sure. We have our first pre-natal visit this coming tuesday, so we'll talk to you then! Love you all!
