Jack reading his color book!

New Car!

DJ and I finally decided it was time for a new car! We went car shopping on Saturday, not expecting to find anything, and found our car! We went to a little used car dealership that's run by this really nice guy, just right down the street from our apartment. It's actually the same place DJ got his Toyota Carola a while back (which is all paid off now-yay!). I was surprised the color didn't bug me since we were really looking for a dark silver or black car, but I loved it at first glance! We knew we wanted it after we were done test driving it. It's a 2003 Toyota Matrix XR. It only had 49,000 miles on it and looks brand new inside and out! I'm totally in love with it, hence the long descriptive post. I originally wanted a small SUV, but I was surprised how much space this car has. Not to mention it drives a ton better than my old Ford, which we"re giving to Jess...She's so excited to have her own car!
We're having so much fun with Jack! He just turned 2 months old! He can hold his head up on his own (it's a little wobbly, but he loves looking around at everything!) He loves looking at the pictures on the wall, the colors on the TV, the dogs running around, his little mobile friends on his swing and bouncer, and our newest thing-his books! He loves looking at the colors and pictures while I read to him! I know he doesn't care much for the actual reading, but he loves the pictures at least! We upped his feedings a couple weeks ago, and it's been going great! He's a ton happier and sleeps 5-8 hours at night! He actually slept like 10 hours the other night, bu I doubt we'll get a treat like that again. Anyway, that's pretty much our news for now. We're just living life and loving it!

I had some requests from out of state family to get some more pics up of the baby...He's growing so fast, and I don't want anyone to miss it! He smiles now, but you definitely have to work for it! He FINALLY is understanding day and night. He goes to "bed" around 9-11 pm, and will sleep for a good 5-6 hours (yay for me!) Then will sleep 3-4 hours after that. He's awake all day now for the most part. He is so alert and loves looking around! His head is so strong. He holds it up all the time! He will sit on our laps (not on his own yet, but with our help) and look around at everything, it's adorable! I just read him his color book today, and played with his toys (it took the dogs a while to figure out that Jack's toys are not theirs) and he loved it! He'll be 2 months on the 16th--so crazy how fast he's growing =-( It's kind of sad. But I can't wait 'till he smiles at me because he knows me, and not just because I'm desperately making goofy faces to get him to smile at me. Boy do we love him though. He's our whole world!
